My experience is that ONT issues are caused by something occurring upstream on the fiber network.

My advice? I would configure the AE Router to operate in Bridge Mode to eliminate the Double NAT. It may not be causing problems with your current devices, but eventually it will and by then you will probably have forgotten what the cause is.

If, for some reason, changing the AE Router to operate in Bridge Mode causes an issue, you can just as easily change it back to DHCP.Kenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11519831519646337908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1413221578516620291.post-2318341134865134132013-04-12T22:58:09.964-04:002013-04-12T22:58:09.964-04:00If you have owned this vehicle since new... you ha...If you have owned this vehicle since new... you have 50,000+ miles... and you have never had the electric motor coolant pump replaced, I would have the repair done. I have experienced the stop safely now light on four road trips - consistently after traveling an hour on the highway at 65mph + speed. I limped to my destination on three trips and on the fourth just traveled less than 55mph to reduce my overheating to one occasion instead of many. Anyway, my dealer said there are no codes saved (it has been too long) and the pump passes all of their tests as well as other diagnostics (I gave them the TSB number). I plan to generate a code in the next few days and take it back, but they said even if the codes are available they may not be able to know for sure if it is the pump (if it still passes their tests). If I get it replaced anyway - and they will do it under warranty - if the overheating happens again because the MESC wasn't the issue then I am stuck for whatever the repair is later (won't repair the same symptom under warranty twice). So right now I have a car that I can't drive on any road trips without fear of the power cutting out. And I have one chance to get it repaired right. I am handy, but don't have the time to repair it myself. I said to order the part and I will bring it back in (with a code) but what would you do? Thanks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1413221578516620291.post-25958468737651047202013-04-12T15:04:06.079-04:002013-04-12T15:04:06.079-04:00I can't thank you enough for posting this deta...I can't thank you enough for posting this detailed article. I'd just purchased an OBD2 scan tool thinking it would find the problem, but the tool indicated that there was no problem. I have just over 65K and this began happening about a month ago. The first one happened when my wife was driving from Baltimore and she had to pull over until I arrived. I drove it home with no problem. It happened again two weeks later and based on what the sales person told me at Advanced Auto I pulled over and sat for about 10 minutes with the engine off. It happened twice yesterday and I used the scan tool which did not find any problem. I found the item on line for $155.00 after paying the $800.00 to Ford. I could have done that myself, but I didn't know what caused the problem.

In my opinion this should be a Ford recall since it seems to happen after the warrant expires (average 70K miles). I will definitely know what to do when it happens again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1413221578516620291.post-69778466037000985632013-04-03T14:43:19.689-04:002013-04-03T14:43:19.689-04:00Morrie's Mazda in Wayzata, MN has the parts on...Morrie's Mazda in Wayzata, MN has the parts on hand for $6.50 each. Almost impossible when the heater is installed in a closet or even up against a wall. Note neither the marketing information or the installation instructions documented this. I was told that even though the heater is still under the GE warranty, I would have to pay a plumber to uninstall the heater and put it in the middle of the room in order for the technician to have full access to the rear of the unit, before they would honor the warranty. After the repair pay the plumber for another visit to reinstall the heater. I paid $1,730.92 for this “high efficacy” heater. When normal heater would have cost around $450 and now the high efficiency portion will not work unless I pay an additional unknown hundreds of dollars for two plumber visits. What good is the GE warranty, plus I wasted $1,280.92.
Signed: Unhappy GE customer.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1413221578516620291.post-34725177439339834702013-03-26T23:08:42.097-04:002013-03-26T23:08:42.097-04:00Sorry, but there are no other ways to generate the...Sorry, but there are no other ways to generate the problem codes... it's the HCU.

I still own the FEH and have vowed to keep it until it dies in order to get my money back out of the repair cost. My experience is a little different then most, I've never lost braking ability, they still work fine, although they now serge a bit as if I have a warped rotor. I have lost the regenerative breaking and dropped about 3 miles/gallon in overall MPG. The computer codes at the dealers must have pointed to the HCU as the service writer took me all the way into the showroom and over in a corner away from everyone else to tell me that it was the HCU and it wasn't worth fixing it..... He also told me it was safe to drive and only the ABS would be affected????? Hope that's right!!!!! First, in your opinion, is it possible for a simpler set of problems to generate the same codes, like a stuck parking brake cable, or bad sensors. Obviously I am hoping to figure out another cause and get it fixed for less then $5K. Do you still have your hybrid and did the replaced HCU work for you? Hopefully you will still have a few words of wisdom for anyone only now facing this problem.
Bill W.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1413221578516620291.post-57892473260856397732013-03-26T14:04:55.620-04:002013-03-26T14:04:55.620-04:00Hi Again, I found the owner's manual and was s...Hi Again, I found the owner's manual and was surprised to see the fuse I have been changing does not run the pump! If it was intended to be a replacement for the original, it should not require more current. I'd be afraid of melting a wire or connector (ultimately causing a fire) by using a larger fuse.

If the pump is working correctly, you should not be overheating. When you turn the key to the "run" position, do you hear the pump running? It is designed to run full-time and is not operated by a thermostat. I wouldn't be concerned unless it happens again with the replacement pump.

The pump should provide sufficient pressure to eliminate any air bubble in the transaxle, though it may take a few miles to happen. I'd take a few short trips and see if the coolant level changes.

If you remain concerned and want to vent the transaxle, you can find the plug on the firewall side of the transaxle underneath several cable plugs. It requires a 12 mm wrench / socket. Had the Stop Safely Now loss of power twice on the busiest freeway in Canada one week ago. Dealer found the codes above, also the 10 amp fuse blown (red fuse nearest the firewall, plastic box under the hood driver's side, wrinkle #1). Re placed the fuse, bought the Dorman pump at Parts Source store for $277 with tax (can't get Amazon fast enough here). I replaced it myself, no big deal though the shrouding had been messed with sometime earlier, and the fuse was blown again. The second wrinkle: the coolant level in the reservoir is now 1/2 inch higher than originally so I am wondering if I did get an air bubble in the transaxle and if I should fret about finding how to vent it. Any advise? I haven't run it very far since the repair but need to take a road trip this week for work.
Denhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03426002032114905158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1413221578516620291.post-77274933392338613052013-03-19T16:18:33.191-04:002013-03-19T16:18:33.191-04:00I have now owned the original GE Geo Spring. As an...I have now owned the original GE Geo Spring. As an HVAC commercial technician / supervisor here is my take:

I developed an evaporator leak in the GE Geo Spring at 14 month mark, technically outside of the free 12 month warranty.

GE was nice to me however and 2 GE appliance repairmen replaced the leaking evaporator without charge and restored the unit to service. Thank You GE.

The question is not whether these are efficient, they are. When you go from drawing 19 amperes of current at 240 volts to just 2 amperes, trust me, it works. The amprobe does not lie !

The big issue is the overall build quality of each and every brand.

I paid around $900.00 for mine new. I also use mine as part of a geothermal system. My Carrier geothermal heat pump de superheats or preheats water going into an electrically disconnected water tank # 1 which stores heated water, then in turn, supplies the GE Geospring, tank # 2.

As long as the household heat pump is running, my entering water on the Geo Spring is from 80 - 95 degrees F instead of 55 F winter, - 70 F summer.

So, forget the yellow energy sticker on the tank that says usage can be down to $150.00 per year from $350.00.

Apart from breakdowns, it now heats water for VERY little. It's not trying to heat 55 F water) For single tank users follow instructions and don't bury the unit in a basement 55F closet.

Install it right, use it in the right way, and you'll get the benefit.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1413221578516620291.post-4360568790829082982013-03-18T16:20:22.453-04:002013-03-18T16:20:22.453-04:00Fuse?
